Hot Springs, AR - The local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy announced plans to replace the marble representation of a Confederate Army soldier and its granite base with a 50-foot tall granite statue of the Mad Titan, Thanos. Demolition of the old one is scheduled for the end of the week.
The decision comes after the group recently watched Avengers Endgame. According to the chapter leader, "Thanos was absolutely right and what happened to him in that movie was appalling. He deserves some sort of monument in his honor for what he was trying to accomplish." They are also planning a vigil for him once the project is complete.
The group is also considering rescinding their membership to the UDC altogether and starting the first chapter of the Daughters of Thanos. "He wasn't a Mad Titan. He only wanted to preserve the beauty within the Universe. He didn't deserve to die and we should honor his memory."
