Hot Springs, AR - Two mid-30s Hot Springs men ran across one another early Saturday morning after a month-long Facebook argument, spanning thousands of comments. The two had engaged in a comment battle, starting back in April, after a rouge Facebook post. Many spectators of the comment war, expecting a Tyson vs. Holyfield type street fight, were disappointed when the two finally met up and absolutely nothing happened. " I've been waiting a whole month for a fight, and these two walk by each other at the shop like they ain't never met before," one witness said. According to witnesses interviewed by SCC, the two happened to be at the same barbershop early Saturday with no fighting or show of aggression from either occurring. "They were both in there real sweaty like and kept looking at their phones to avoid eye contact. Matter of fact, I think one guy's phone was dead, but he just kept staring at that bitch sweating beads." Late Saturday night, both were back at it on Facebook, trading shots in the comments of each other's post belittling the other's actions at the shop earlier.

Hot Springs, AR - The Hot Springs Police Department is offering a new program to combat the spread of the Rona. According to Corporal Joey Williams, the department will begin offering free COVID-19 screenings for all meth products later this week. "We want all citizens to be safe during this trying time for our nation. The CDC reports that there is a high infection rate within the meth head community, so we're asking all methamphetamine salesmen within Hot Springs to bring in their product and have it tested for the Rona," Williams said during an interview. According to Williams, the department is trying to be proactive in every approach to handling Corona. "Our shoot first, ask questions later approach to deal with citizen contacts has resulted in zero infection rate within our ranks, and we believe that this added measure to assure the health and safety of drug users will make our department first in class when dealing with the Rona, Williams also said." Once the meth has been cleared for the Rona, methamphetamine salesmen will be brought inside the department to fill out paperwork showing their meth is Certified by HSPD as COVID-19 free.
Hot Springs, AR - Hot Springs Police Department officers can't arrest suspects during the Covid-19 Pandemic due to social distancing guidelines according to officials. "Because of Federal guidelines, our department has implemented a program called Shoot First, Ask Questions Later," according to the department's Public Relations officer Joey Williams. The new program states that officers should shoot all misdemeanor and felony suspects on-site and then have them transported by ambulance to the hospital where they can be properly screened for COVID-19 and transported to the jail once cleared by hospital staff. Williams states that the program is the department's best line of defense against the pandemic and is the best way to maintain officer and suspect safety. "The program is the first in the country and shows promising results. So far we have had no officers or suspects test positive for the virus, and most suspects have only suffered minor injuries," according to Williams. The department plans on sharing the data collected from these arrests with the Garland County Sheriff's Department so they can implement a similar program. "Get pulled over for no seatbelt or get caught committing a robbery, either way; we're going to bust a cap in that ass. It's the only way to maintain public health and safety in these trying times," Williams says.
